Bon Bons & Wham Whams

Today’s writing prompt is Climate Control: The idea that the weather and people’s moods are connected is quite old. Do you agree? If yes, how does the weather affect your mood?
Wafting through the house are the delicious scents of cinnamon, nutmeg, yeast, and brown sugar. I just love the smell of rain, don’t you? Yes, I said rain. As soon as it starts raining here in the Pacific Northwest, the temptation of baking cinnamon rolls tickles my taste buds. It is not long after the rain starts, that I find myself in my dinky kitchen throwing flour all over the place. Picture Scrooge McDuck swimming through his vault of riches—except it’s me in flour and sugar and spices and butter. I never feel quite as content as I do when it’s raining and I’m in the kitchen baking something yummy. Although, that also means that as soon as it begins to rain I will feel that familiar, restless, irresistible tugging at my conscience being to drag my tired feet into the kitchen. The longer I resist the draw, the longer I exist without adequate time to swim through cloves and cinnamon, the more restless I become. But this is just what happens when it rains. Don’t get me going on what happens when the sun peeks through the clouds.
